Volunteer Program
Since 1954, the NPMC Auxiliary has been serving National Park Medical Center and the local community. Last year alone, over 80 men and women dedicated their time to NPMC totaling over 20,000 hours of service.
The volunteers who contribute so much of their time to the hospital and community offer an invaluable service. From welcoming patients to delivering flowers and patient newspapers, our volunteers take a special interest in the families, patients and employees of NPMC. In addition, the volunteers help acquire medicine for needy patients, car seats for new mothers, scholarships for employees and mailing supplies for the Charitable Christian Medical Clinic.
Junior Volunteer Program
The NPMC Junior Volunteer program is designed to allow teenagers at least 14 years of age to volunteer in the hospital during summer vacation.
The program allows volunteers an insight into the health care industry and to health care career opportunities. Students volunteer as little as four hours a day, one day a week in a selected area of the hospital.
Applications will be accepted again beginning March 2008. Students must complete and return the Junior Volunteer Application and the Release Form for Tuberculosis Skin Testing and send these along with two letters of reference. The application packet should be returned to:
National Park Medical Center
Attn: Marketing and PR Coordinator
1910 Malvern Avenue
Hot Springs, AR 71901
All volunteers selected for this program must agree to attend an opening orientation. For more information, call (501) 620-2705.
