Laboratory
The Registered Medical Technologists, Medical Laboratory Technicians, Histology Technicians, Phlebotomy Team, and Clerical Staff at NPMC provide a full service Laboratory, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. On the average, the staff has 15+ years of experience in the field of medical technology.
Laboratory Accreditation
Congress passed the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) in 1988 establishing quality standards for all laboratory testing to ensure the accuracy, reliability and timeliness of patient test results regardless of where the test was performed. Our lab is CLIA licensed. Our Services include:
The Hematology Department, which offers complete blood counts, urinalysis testing, and coagulation studies.
The Blood Bank Department is available for blood transfusion services, as well as blood typing and cross matching.
The Chemistry Department utilizes instrumentation for blood sugar, kidney, heart, thyroid, and liver function tests. Various others chemical tests are readily available.
The Histology Department has an in-house pathologist for the diagnostic interpretations of histological smears.
The Microbiology Department offers culture and antimicrobial sensitivity testing. The department also offers testing for chlamydia, rotavirus, C. difficile toxin, and Group A strep.
