May 7, 2025

Hot Springs, Arkansas (May 2, 2025) – National Park Medical Center recently announced that Gail Wyrick has been recognized as the facility’s 2025 Mercy Award winner. The Mercy Award recognizes one employee from each of Lifepoint Health’s facilities who profoundly touches the lives of others and best represents the spirit and values on which the company was founded.
Established in 2001, the Mercy Award is an annual recognition program that honors the life and contributions of Scott Mercy, Lifepoint’s founding chairman and chief executive officer. The award is considered the highest honor a Lifepoint employee can receive.
“At National Park Medical Center, our caring and compassionate team members are at the heart of advancing our mission of making communities healthier – and Gail is a shining example of this day in and day out,” said Scott Bailey, CEO of NPMC. “We are so proud to recognize her many contributions to caring for patients, supporting our hospital, and serving our community. I’m grateful for Gail’s positive influence and the example she sets for all of us.”
Gail's commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those in her care is evident through her thoughtful planning of daily activities, such as creating a Farmers Market Experience where patients are empowered to choose their own fruit. She also organizes holiday celebrations and birthday parties, creating joyful and memorable experiences for everyone involved. Gail offers emotional support to families, ensuring they feel heard and cared for during challenging times. Beyond her professional responsibilities, her leadership extends into the community. Gail actively works with the local homeless shelter and volunteers through her church. With over 31 years of dedicated service, Gail's legacy of compassion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to her patients and community makes her the perfect recipient of the 2025 NPMC Mercy Award.
Each facility winner, including Gail, will be considered for Lifepoint’s 2025 companywide Mercy Award. The companywide winner will be announced this summer and honored during a ceremony in Nashville, Tenn., in August.
